September 2nd, 2008

Hey all, just got back from Reno yesterday. A weekend of fun and drama all at the same time. 16 Expert still not disappointing to all, Stair and Murphy always a good show. Riley finally got some redemption from the last couple of races. There were a few new A Pro’s that did well, that class is SICK right now. Deak Brown comes away with a broken ankle for the weekend in AA. Bubba made a showing wanting to ride sooo bad. Just an overall great weekend of racing and fun.

From Tucson I did not post, the track was short but fun. I made semi’s both days and crashed both days, getting a 5th and 6th.

kink trip

August 15th, 2008

the summer is winding down and im on my last excursion before school starts again on the 25th. last week i went down to the virgin islands for my moms wedding and to basically do nothing but get sunburnt and rot in paradise. it was absolutely beautiful down there, and it was a nice break from riding too. from there i headed home for 12 hours just to hop on another plane to salt lake city, where im at now on a kink trip, were here for a few days riding and filming for the new kink video, safety first, everyones parts are pretty much finished so this trip is real relaxed and fun. from here we go to reno, sacremento and san fran where we all fly out next week sometime. should be a good trip, walter p. is on shooting photos and updating the kink site everyday. so check that out

I have been pretty busy lately, I was in Eastern Washington at a music festival doing skate demos. I also recently entered two skate contests, one in Sprinker Washington and the other in Snohomish Washington. Both are kind of far from where I live. At the sprinker contest I tied for second and at the Snohomish contest I tied for first with Cory Kennedy, the kid who won the $3,000 king of the plaza contest. The Oregon trifecta is coming up soon so I am getting ready for that as well.

THE END OF THE SUMMER

Well my summer ended a bit early this year with my entry in to a student teaching position here in Arizona. I have currently passed all of the required tests, coerce, and required expectations for my teaching career. I am hoping to receive my diploma in early December and then trying to figure out what to do with this life. I am happy for Kronik because they are about to launch the best tasting energy drink on the market, and it is a huge step for the company. Several flavors will be introduced and thus far everyone I have given the drink to has been impressed. Riding has been good, currently I am riding brakeless, which is a bit out of control but that’s the way I like it anyhow, ha-ha. In other news it’s hot, kids are back in school and Tempe has opened up a new facility that allows bikes. They are using the angle of “community park,” we are hoping that this park acts as a stepping stone for more to came in the future with the goal of having a place to ride in every community state wide. Prope to Pat Blackburn for putting in work for the past ten plus years trying to find safe and free places for us to ride. Hope all is well; I have to get back to teaching,

Oh, and check out the new Transworld Ride Bmx, for an article on traveling through Arizona, local riders have a few pics in there and I have a full page shot reppin that Kronik Gear.

Adios

Hey all, just got back from Utah. Highlights of the weekend, Supercamp Trainer Deak Brown won Saturday which turned him AA. He made his Semi Sunday in his first AA race. The track out there at Rad Canyon BMX was AWESOME, paved corners made that track faster than it already was. Overall the weekend was great fun, the Utah crew did an awesome job on the track as usual, and put on a great show.

This weekend I will be in Las Vegas NV doing a racing clinic. Should be a great time, the crew out there at Ed Fountain Park always make a weekend fun. If anyone wants more information on this you can email me at opitlr@yahoo.com. Hopefully I will have pics up from that clinic.

Ride hard and Have fun.

After a long hot humid weekend in Roseville, it sure is good to be home in the dryer heat. Roseville went pretty well, I had some bad luck racing but other than that it was a great weekend. The track out there is really basic and fast, a lot of great racing. If you want to check out some videos the website is www.go211.com, check it out. AA Pro action on both days was great.

I am also going to be in Las Vegas at Ed Fountain Park BMX August 1st and 2nd doing a clinic. If your out in the area, stop by. I will have some Kronik and some swag out there for the riders. Ride hard, stay safe, but most of all have fun.

Morgan Burgess, the latest happenings

Well I went to California for 3 weeks for the Pro Tec pool party, the first 10 days I skated backyard pools, Washington Street in San Diego, and practiced for the contest.  In the contest during the last 60 seconds of my heat I fell on a McTwist and broke my wrist.  Anyway, that was 6 weeks ago, since then I have been skating with a cast on, up until a few days ago when me and my sister took my cast off. I recently won an Am video contest for a free trip and invite to the Maloof Money Cup Am Vert contest.  This should be a really fun event.  It’s being  aired on CBS.  The contest is July 11-13th at the Orange County fairgrounds in Costa Mesa California.Other than that, I’ve been to the Skatopia party, always a radical time.  a bunch of bands played.  Brewce burnt his limo with the Indy team jumping up and down on it, and my dog Skittles had a great time. Peace out,Morgan

I hope everyone had a good 4th of July.
I just got back from a best trick contest inside a skate shop. It was best trick over a planter, and they where just handing out money for tricks they liked. I walked away with a little bit of cash for my variel heelflip and my fingerflip over the planter. The set up was fun but really sketchy. I brought a case of Kronik for the kids even though Vitamin Water was sponsoring the event.
Skate hard it is summer time.
